Terms of Service
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2026
Services & estimates
All services are provided by Blackline Detail Works, LLC. Published prices are starting points; every job is quoted in writing after an in-person inspection, and no work begins until you approve the quote. If we discover something mid-job that changes the scope (pre-existing damage, failing clear coat), we stop and call you before proceeding.
Appointments
The studio is by appointment only. Please give at least 48 hours notice to reschedule; repeated no-shows may require a deposit for future bookings. If we need to reschedule you (it happens — some corrections reveal more hours than the inspection suggested), we will offer the next available slot with priority.
Vehicle condition & care
We document vehicle condition, including paint-thickness readings, before work begins. We carry garage-keepers insurance and the studio is camera-monitored and alarmed. Please remove valuables before drop-off; we are not responsible for items left in the vehicle beyond documented factory equipment.
Warranties
Ceramic coatings and paint protection film carry manufacturer warranties (3–7 years for coatings, 10 years for film), registered in your name at installation. Warranty terms require reasonable maintenance — the care sheet we hand over at pickup describes it. Our own workmanship is guaranteed: if something we did isn't right, bring it back and we make it right.
Payment
Payment is due at pickup unless arranged otherwise. Membership billing is monthly, month-to-month, cancellable with one week's notice. We accept major cards, ACH, and checks from people we like.
Limitation of liability
Our liability for any claim relating to services is limited to the amount paid for the service in question, except where the law says otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under North Carolina law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina. Disputes go to the courts of Mecklenburg County — though in five years, every dispute so far has been settled with a rework and a handshake.
